Skakstævne på Højskolehjemmet
Kolding Skakklub blev stiftet 19. januar 1921. Ved stiftelsen var navnet Kolding Skakforeningen, klubben havde ca. 10 medlemmer og formand var tømrermester Adsbøl. I de første år levede klubben i skyggen af Kolding Skakklub fra 1920. Denne klub havde ca. 40 medlemmer. De indbyrdes matcher blev vundet af Kolding Skakklub. De to klubber samarbejdede om arrangementer. Omkring 1925 forsvandt Kolding Skakklub og Kolding Skakforening var i flere år byens eneste skakklub.
